Finger 11 Paralyzer most downloaded track ever by a
Canadian artist: headlines Summerfest 2008

Summerfest 2008 line-up is so large it requires two main-stages.

Summerfest 2008 will feature two main-stages of great music from Thursday, August 21st to Sunday, August 24th. Summerfest presents a whole line-up of recording artists that includes 2008 Juno winner for Rock Album of the Year, Finger 11. Also appearing during the weekend is ill Scarlet, the Joys, and Low Level Flight. Classic rock is also returning throughout the weekend with Stampeders, Honeymoon Suite, and Kim Mitchell. Sudbury Blues fans will love this year’s line-up with Roomful of Blues, Tony ‘Wild T” Springer, Julian Fauth, and David Rotundo.

“Sudbury is proliferated with amazing musical talent and Summerfest is always proud to showcase our local talent,” said to Summerfest Director of Entertainment, Vic Theriault. “Summerfest has always supported and nurtured local talent by annually featuring some of this City’s finest artists”.

“There is a lot of wonderful entertainment for the entire family throughout the park”, said Board President Elaina Groves. Summerfest 2008 features ABS Break-dancers who will also demonstrate the velocity stilts. Also appearing is comedy juggling duo The Cow Guys, percussion show Junkyard Symphony; children’s performer Erik Traplin; and return engagement by Charlie Little Fingers. Bandaloni the one-man-band is marking a return to Summerfest after his appearance in 2004. “Bandaloni was a crowd favourite in 2004”, said Groves. “We are thrilled to have him back this year”.

Back again is the professional trick skiing show with ballet on skis, human pyramids and spins, twirls and jumps and comedy that always amaze and amuse.

Financial support from Celebrate Ontario is supporting the introduction of workshops including one on break-dancing and another one on circus performing. Francophone programming will also be added to the mainstage.

Ticket information:

  • Early bird weekend passes go on sale to the public on July 14, 2008 on-line only at www.sudburysummerfest.org until August 2, 2008 at $69.00. This early bird promotion offers over $100 savings if each concert ticket was purchased individually.

  • Beginning August 3, 2008, weekend passes will be sold for $82.00 each.

  • Individual concert tickets will be available for sale on August 3, 2008 (depending on availability).

  • A general grounds pass is available at the gate for $8.00 and $4.00 for those under 10 years. (2 and under are free).
